Marcus & Megan

april 18, 2018

I always get really nervous meeting with potential brides. I mean, it’s their WEDDING day! It’s quite possibly the biggest day of their lives…and they want to choose the best person to walk through it with them. A person who will add joy to their wedding day, rather than stress. A person who will capture them at their best, at their happiest. A person who will make sure their day is remembered in the most beautiful and natural way. Some photographers show up to meetings with brides, showcasing their photos. But that’s not entirely my purpose. After all, I don’t ever want to “sell” them on my photography. I want to sell them on ME. I want them to love ME, to love what I do, to love what I stand for. Because, SO much of what I stand for shows in my photography. Therefore, if they love me and feel comfortable with me, then chances are, they will love their pictures, too.

I met these two at Panera a few weeks ago, and I immediately fell in love with them. They just meshed perfectly together. They were happy, and glowing…yet in a very real way, if that makes sense. They were ready for LIFE together….not just a wedding day. I could tell immediately that these two had something special. They loved each other, and they did it well. One of my favorite things about them is how often I heard her say, in our conversation with each other, “he’s just such a good man”. I loved that. I have a good man, myself. And I’ll tell ya, when hard times hit and the passion fades, a “good man” is what keeps a marriage together. I’m SO blessed to have a good man. And I’m SO excited for Megan to have found one, too.

Normally it takes a couple some time to warm up to the camera. These two? Not so much. They literally melted into each other’s arms. They made it look SO easy. It was so much fun to walk around the Nelson Art Museum on a gorgeous May evening, and capture their love at its finest. Totally humbled and blessed to get to be a part of it. And SOOOOO excited for their wedding next June!

Love these two, and love everything that they stand for. Congratulations Marcus & Megan! So glad I get to be part of this journey with you.
